Super Borovets for Sale at 30 Million Euro
Nobody wants to invest in the mega-ambitious idea of Simeon Saxcoburggotski

The Super Borovets project is declared for sale at thirty million euro, well-informed sources told Standart. The reason for this drastic measure is that for the time being there are no enthusiasts to invest cash in the idea, vehemently promoted by former Prime Minister Simeon Saxcoburggotski.
Some entrepreneurs have already received offers to buy out the Rila Samokov 2004 venture, established not long ago, but none of them has so far agreed to buy.
Vesela, the widow of banker Emil Kyulev, shot several months ago, became the biggest stakeholder in the venture, as one of the stakeholders - Energokomplekt sold 3.5 percent of the shares to her firm Kontrakt-99 to pay off its debt to a Bulgarian bank. Glavbolgarstroy also holds a 3.5-percent stake, which they also bought from Energokomplekt.
The Municipality of Samokov managed to defend its interests by issuing an order, under which the decisions in Rila Samokov 2004 could be taken only with the votes of seven-eights of the members of the directors' board.
"Thus, I at least managed to save the 200 ha of forests, included as contributed property in the venture, from being sold away," Samokov Mayor Angel Nikolov says.

My name is Kamleia Krumova and I am chief editor of www.BulgariaSki.com. We are now preparing an article about the "Super Borovets" Project.
Last week we had a meeting with the mayor of Samokov and he assured us that the major obstacles before the project are overcome. The next step should be the association's meeting on June 12th when the truth about the development of the resort will come out.
Tomorrow www.BulgariaSki.com will publish the latest information we have on the subject.
According to the mayor of Samokov, there are no problems for the successful start of the project and he hopes that this summer the construction of the new cabin lift will start.

We should consider the subject from both sides of the coin and do not let certain political interests to define the public opinion.
That is why our team suggests that we wait until June 12th , before making final decision on the success or failure of this imposing project.

I feel that I should also say few words in this respect.
Me and Kamelia participated on the meeting with the Mayor of Samokov who was that kind to accept us and give us a long interview, where we asked all important questions for the project. BulgariaSki will publish the interview tomorrow.
The Mayor Mr. Nikolov was very enthusiastic about the project and said that the project is going ahead as planned. The financing has been sorted out, and there was even more interest by various financial institutions to invest even more funds than the initially estimated 300 mln Euros.
