Air companies prefer Bulgaria for business flights
Three Asian air companies have expressed willingness to start flights to Sofia, emerged at the aircraft fair in Copenhagen.
"Bulgaria is a preferred business flight destination by China, Qatar and Denmark," said Kalin Barzov, Sofia Airport head. To him, the interest in Bulgaria has increased due to the opportunities for congress tourism. The Tourism Agency head said that every foreign holiday-maker at the Bulgarian sea-side spends about 40 euro a day while businessmen are apt to spend up to 500 euro.
Kalin Barzov predicted the charter flights from England to Bulgaria would increase by 40% this coming winter because of the British skiers preferring Borovets and Bansko.
The attractive summer offers can provoke the opening of a Toronto-Sofia line.
After the opening of the new terminal in Sofia Airport the old one will be used only for charter flights.
