WEATHER - Friday, 27 January 2006Mostly sunny over the country. In the morning, possible low visibility. The lows will vary between minus 16 °C and minus 11 °C, minus 18 °C to minus 19 in northern Bulgaria and in the highlands. The temperature along the Black Sea coast will be about -9 °C. Light northeasterly wind. The highs will reach minus 4 °C to 1 °C; 3 °C in the southwestern parts of the country. The minimum temperature in Sofia will be minus 16 and the maximum minus 3.

Cold Spell Claims Three More Lives
Three more people died from subzero temperatures yesterday - two in Varna (on the Black Sea) and one in Devnia (northeast Bulgaria). The first casualty was a homeless person found frozen near the Stochna Gara neighborhood in the Bulgarian sea capital.
The 54-year-old Ilia M. was rushed to the hospital but it was too late for him. Another man presumably also victim of the cold weather was found in Devnia and taken to the hospital but died two hours later ...
