SNOW LEVELS

Hi has anybody got the historic snow fall levels for Borovets. According to the experts the snow fall follows a regular pattern every 17 - 18 years, the last time there was a bad year or 2 it was followed by good years, so on that basis was the last period of bad snowfall (except last 2 years) around the late 80's ? Would be interesting to compare the regularity of conditions over the past 20 years, Any ideas?re: SNOW LEVELS
Tipical snow in BG speaking from the early 70's onward from personal experience, is:
new Year and Xmas patchy
-some years good some bad some very bad but more reliable in the past that in recent years.Just ignore the last season where the snow in Boro and in some respect in Bansko was just perfect from Xmas to April.
The same goes for March.
I remember many years and more often that the opposite 1st-10th march( then this period was holiday at that time for the whiole of the schools ...

For January and Feb more or less good with the exception of Pamporovo where the height is a problem so we were shifting to higher resorts to train-back then to: Borovets, Aleko, Maliovitsa and a single tow /lift on Shiligarnika-Bansko.

if we could predict the weather wed make those 'forecasters and all their millions of pounds worth of satellites and computer programs worthless.....they cant get it right so what chance have we????

Hi, i have been going to Borovets for the past 6 years and booked for next year 25th Jan, just interested to see if there was a pattern as the so called experts say, there was a bit on this site last year saying it was a 17/18 year cycle, it was more for interest than trying to predict the levels. I have never had any problems in Late Jan or early Feb, i am bringing my wife and daughter this year for the first time so probably have more interest in the levels on the lower slopes for them ...
