re: Scotland

The main site for skiing in Scotland is at http://www.ski-scotland.com/ from there you can get links to all 5 centres. There's not much data on last year but the sites are kept pretty much up to date when the season starts, which is usually from late December through to mid-late April. You can get weekly updates from Cairngorm and SMS snow alerts from most of them if you register. Keeping fingers crossed this season will be better than last!!!

I ski Scotland regular when I am not abroad, the previous replys are spot on, teletext page 421 (BBC1) from beggining of December.
Poor snow last year, and you have to be able to shoot off at short notice for the best conditions cos they allways dont last long, (unlike in the 80s!).
Midweek is best if you can manage it, lots of people at weekends.

Unfortunatley (for me at least who takes 49 skiers up on a coach each year), the Mcdonald chain of hotels has taken over all the main resort hotels. (the large ones, Freedom Inn, aviemore Inn, highlands etc). What was £25 per person per night group rate has now shot up to £170 per room per night!
Thats the price of redevelopment!
Try the Cairngorm hotel, on the main street, its excellent, great grub and friendly, or McKenzies furthur up the street. Alternativley theres plenty of other accomadation available in the resort, see the aforementioned website.
Cheers Razz
