Hi all.
Never been to Bulgaria before skiing, only France. So I have no idea about when the season runs to and from and when I could catch some cheaper deals. I would say I'm a green/blue run skier who has been skiing about 3 or 4 times.
Some advice please?!
Hi Fiona
Bulgaria is a great value option particularly at the moment when everyones ski holiday are becoming more and more expensive in Europe. The season in Pamporovo runs from about 15th Dec through to the beginning of April although I would not book in advance for dates beyond 3rd week in March, but wait to see what the snow was like then. Dates in Jan through to early March are the best times and avoid school hols if you can.
I've skied in France quite a lot, and in comparison you will find Bulgaria much cheaper no matter which week you choose. Snowwise January to March is safest bet.
Is the same dates for the season be for Borovets too?"
ALL the resorts in Bulgaria , nearly always try open same weekend , and all have enough snowcannons ( temp playing ball ) to create enough snow to hold opening ceremony
Plenty of good runs for you to enjoy and push if you fancy trying a red (there are easy ish reds medium reds and then much harder reds).
We have been going to Bansko for years it's great to learn and even now it's still loads of fun. We do want to try other resorts but our kids have just started skiing so they can learn here and then when at a good enough standard we might try somewhere else.
Feb Half term though is a big one though really costly ...
It is good value no question
