However, it appears someone is up to no good.
It looks like someone is using the email addresses from this forum in an attempt to decieve people. IMT received an email with a high risk attachment this morning from [email protected]. This is the only place in the world I have entered that made up email address.
If any of you have received any unsolicited mail, from the askpete address, or from anyone else for that matter, and did not receive a security warning from your antivirus client.........GET YOUR COMPUTER CHECKED !!! if it's something like a keylogger, it will have recorded every single thing you have typed on your keyboard. If it is a password trojan, every account on your computer will be compromised.
DO NOT open any suspicious or unsolicited mail.

Someone has already got my email address and is using it to send emails.

I notice you've changed the eds email address. Log on to your ISP, and get your password changed NOW mate. If someone is sending through your account, rather than just putting your address at the top, they are already inside it. You might even find they've changed the password, but this is unlikely, as you wouldn't be able to get your own email.Two programmes I swear by are ad-aware, and norton internet security. kept me safe so far.

I suspect the hacker is on the outside emulating my address. I am behind quite a large set of business firewalls and anti-virus checkers. I have checked my PC with adware as aswell and I'm all clear. I think the hacker has just copied the email addresses from this site into some sort of program and is emulating my account.My password is safe as houses, but thanks for the advice.

Why put an email at all? Leave that field blank.

Peter and Banknote are quite right, albeit a sad affair. Because I can be quite outspoken on issues dear to my heart I have had loads of trash sent to me over the years, which is why I no longer publish my e mail address.
I try my best to monitor all postings and the last thing I ever want to do is to restrict free speech or delete comments that may not hold my point of view.
As it gets closer to the season this board will really come alive. Last year during the peak time we were ...

I try my best to monitor all postings and the last thing I ever want to do is to restrict free speech or delete comments that may not hold my point of view.
As it gets closer to the season this board will really come alive. Last year during the peak time we were getting nearly 500 postings a day and I expect this year will be even busier. Unfortunately that will certainly bring some unwanted comments that will need to be erased, but thats people for you.
Please continue to inform me of anything I may miss, I can only get on here in the evenings now, but I will do my best to keep this board clean.
