Theres a crowd of 21 going to Borovets on the 25th Feb and staying at the Samakov. Been reading about safety box security, things going astray from rooms and I am a bit concerned. I know the usual about security stuff and it can happen in any country, but if anyone can give me any pointers, or put my mind at rest that would be great
Samakov great hotel. Had no problems with leaving stuff in my room. I left allsorts out and nothing was taken. As for safety deposit boxes didn't use them. Just kept money locked in suitcase.
Always use a safety box and don't carry more cash than you need for the day- Gypsies are everywhere and they live off snatching people's wallets. If you avoid them, you'll be fine.
N.B. Thieves in BG are usually Gypsy kids age 7-12 sent to do steal by their own parents, who are live on welfare-too lazy to work.
"gypsies are everywhere!"
I havnt seen one yet in my Three visits!
the odd begger on the street, other than that I have had no problems!
I used the Samokov security boxes at reception, but as posted, I left things out in the room and nothing went amiss.
Enjoy!
