Bulgaria Ski discussion board

All of you fellow Bulgarian ski enthusiasts who have got to know me over the past few years will know that I am usually very optomistic and fairly accurate with the Bulgarian snow conditions/forecast and that I have always given praise to the incredible snow reliability in Bulgarian resorts.
However, this winter is really proving to be a misnoma! The only thing keeping me sane is that it is the same for most of Europe and not just Bulgaria. In fact, some European resorts are even worse than Bulgaria e.g Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
I am still confident that the current prevailing snow conditons are going to change in the second half of January as per what the current weather models are more or less predicting and I am banking heavily that they will prove to be correct.

My honest opinion and in light of the now unpredictable snow conditions....avoid booking skiing holidays in December and January! Yes, it may sound drastic but if you and your family get really excited about going skiing every year and if you can only afford (time or money) one week per year then my suggestion would be to take that gamble from February to March. At least then you have as good a chance as you will ever get of having decent snow conditions, and if you are like me, powder as well for a bit of off-piste adventure.
As we can all appreciate, skiing holidays aren't cheap and we would all want/expect the best snow conditions for our holidays to make the most of it. I know that I won't be booking anymore ski holidays before February from now on!
