Anyone else out there just had the great news that Balkan Holidays' flights from Gatwick have changed on 2nd Jan? We were expecting to get there early evening on the Sun 2nd but now will not even land until after midnight (local) on the Monday morning. If anyone skiing on Monday morning, who has flown with other operators, sees four seriously stroppy kids (and four adults) with rather large bags under the eyes - it's us. Have phoned Balkan, of course it's in the terms and conditions that we ...
Anyone else out there just had the great news that Balkan Holidays' flights from Gatwick have changed on 2nd Jan? We were expecting to get there early evening on the Sun 2nd but now will not even land until after midnight (local) on the Monday morning. If anyone skiing on Monday morning, who has flown with other operators, sees four seriously stroppy kids (and four adults) with rather large bags under the eyes - it's us. Have phoned Balkan, of course it's in the terms and conditions that we can leave you with not much more than a long weekend skiing. Are trying to change but from what I can gather all their slots over the UK have been altered, they don't even seem to know whether or not their flights are landing in Sofia, Plovdiv or Burgas. If we end up in Burgas we won't even be there for the Monday! Hey ho!!!

First time I went, it was with Balkan and they changed us from Sofia to Plovdiv to go to Borovets and we didn't get to resort until 3am - wasn't very good on the slopes on the first day as a first time skiier who needs lots of sleep.Gave up lessons after lunch cos I was so tired and crawled back to bed. Spent the whole week being behind the rest of the class but fantastic instructor took me for an extra hour at 9am with the rest of the class meeting at 10am.

Yup Balkan always seem to have crap flight times but they are not alone in changing the time

Our flights were meant to be to Plovdiv, then a 1hr journey to pamporova but now we go to sofia and have 4 hours on a crap coach to look forward to!re: Shafted on flights
its more like 2 hours from Plovdiv to Pamps so not quite such a big difference.Our flight times have changed, they are all about 2-3 hours earlier which works in our favour so far apart from flying back at 9.00am which means we'll need to be up around 5am

we were going in a sports car so 1hr was more realistic!!
