Shopping in Bansko

Thanks to everyone who answers all my millions of questions on this forum... does anyone know if Bansko is good for buying your own equipment (board, boots, bindings)? i.e. are there a few shops? I've only been to Borovets

Loads of 'em! Your only problem will be choosing which one!. I hope you know your stuff because from what I can gather there's a few rip-off-merchants around.

I know there's loads of pirate cds and clothes, but are the boards and stuff dodgy too?

I wouldn't say dodgy but I gather some places charge more than others... Try to avoid the hotel shops and the ones near the Gondola Station - there really are loads to choose from. Which hotel are you staying in? You'll probably go past most of them to-and-from the Gondola Station.

They don't really make pirate skis and boards, it would be too obvious. There were really hundreds of shops, if you want to buy, it is probably better to buy there, rather than in the UK, it is so much cheaper.
I bought a pair of socks...
