Well the title says it all.
Got back late saturday from my first trip to Pamps went with a group of 13 many of us complete newbies, and a few boarders.
With excellent tuition from Dinko and Pano (who calmed nerves and pushed when they knew we could do more) several of the skiers managed a red run by the end of the week including Tomba(10 yrs) He was so proud of himself.

Got back late saturday from my first trip to Pamps went with a group of 13 many of us complete newbies, and a few boarders.

Stayed in the Perelik hotel Our floor had yet to be renovated but despite this the rooms were more than adequate and very warm, Hotel food was good, hot and plenty of it. All hotel facilities were fantastic and we were never bothered by the noise from any of the bars. Service and staff faultless.
Markonys served us well with choc brandys before we ventured onto the slopes and when we returned each day. I was reliably informed that I needed 3 choc brandys each day one for each leg and one for my vision. the only day I skipped my early morning one I fell over!!!! So I made sure I got my quota from then on.
Spiders at the mid station provided us with fantastic lunches. If you go give George the waiter a hug from us all. The Bungee is a must but I would suggest you dont eat your lunch first!!
Weather was fantastic we had a sprinkling of snow most days as well as a couple of days of pure sunshine.
I thought the range of slopes was good and catered for all, allowing even the most confident of us to perfect technique.
Daks Bar is a great place to go for a boogie in the evening, if you go take your own marker pen to write your own graffiti.
The white Hart and BJ'S were great and the welcome was always warm.
The Bulgarian people are an absolute delight and made it a fantastic holiday.
I went with an expectation, and that was more than surpassed.
We are already planning our return trip for next year. Thanks to every one who made the trip so special.
Lovbe to you all Bobski and Tomba
Glad you enjoyed it!
Was your instructor definitely called Dinko or was it Denko?.....genuine question.
I had an instuctor called Denko when I went to Pamporovo but there was also a guy calle Dinko giving private lessons. Perhaps he was moonlighting during his week off?!
Definitely Dinko and we were lucky enough to have private lessons that were tailored to our needs. He was a star as was Pano. I started the week with Two instuctors and ended it with two friends.
thanks guys
We will Pete dont you worry.
You will be pleased to know that The name Tomba has stuck and that is now what we call him all the time. You should have seen his face when he did part of the red run, boy he was so proud of himself and has talked of little else since He took to it so well, what a fab place to take kids as they were always made welcome.
Bulgaria is a place that happy memories are made in. I know I have loads.
