I was thinking of booking up to go skiing in Bulgaia next March. Ive been skiing in france in the portes du soliel range and it is massive and i really enjoyed it but I wanted to go somewhere new and Bulgaria seemed exciting but im a bit worried about the size of the resort. Are the runs long and is there plenty of choice for intermediete skiiers? Also are there any snowparks? Which resort is best for a 19 year old girl and guy just wanting to have a good ski and apres ski? Im ...

Hi KerryBansko has 65kms piste for this season. All the lifts and gondola are new within the last 18 months. The runs are long and wide. There is also 2 ski roads that enable you ski back to the resort (about 7 kms from top station of the gondola), one of which will have lights the entire length of it so they will hopefully be doing night skiing this year. There is a new snowpark for this season and a halfpipe is planned for next year.

I have only skied in Bulgaria, but from what I have been told by friends who have been about a bit, when you have skied in the larger French resorts, it is hard to go back to skiing in Bulgaria.
Generally speaking, you can ski all the runs in any of the Bulgarian resorts in a day so you will end up covering the same ground a fair few times over the course of a week.
I would counter this though by suggesting that the Bulgarian resorts are possibly friendlier (you tend to bump into the ...

Although I have not skied either resort if you wabt the nighlife you will have to go to Borovets as Bansko is more traditional i.e small tavernasre: Size of Borovets and bansko?

I have skied in France Grand Massif and Bulgaria at Pamporovo, France was much bigger and a lot more expensive for ski passes etc.
OK so you may have to do the same run a few times but, different days different views, I am going back to Bulgaria this year again, because of the cost it is dead cheap, it is not oh look at me and the designer gear I have got, the people are friendly, the skiing was good, apres ski was OK, BUT I was so knackered that I just wanted to get my head ...

I love the pine tree slopes in Pamps compared to the open mountains I encountered in France.
I also loved the tranquility, not many queues like france, and people seem to chill, as I say the booze is cheap, the food is good, do not let people put you off by saying the food is cold, Bulgarians have thier food warm rather than hot, none of my party of 7 complained.
Hope if you pick Bulgaria that you enjoy it.
