Hi, ski boots bought in 93 and used a few times, will they be OK to use this year. They are Salomon boots (at the time they were the lastest model!). I know skis have moved on and probably technique, but will these boots surfice or should I hire? (From the old girl!!). Ta.
Skis have certainly changed in the last 13 years ... much shorter, thicker and borrowing the waisted design of snowboards. Bindings have changed slightly too, but fortunately boots are almost exactly the same. The sole length and width of the toe and heel piece should never change, and as that's the bit that matters, the bit that holds you in the bindings, you should be fine. Just make sure that they aren't worn out ... if the toe and heel are anything but flat they won't release properly ...

If you ever see a picture of Prince Charles in his ski gear, have a look at his boots - they are a rear entry boot - so if it's good enough for the royals...
