Hi, I am going to Pamps in February half term with 3 other adults and 2 children. Have noted the comments on the high prices, can anyone tell me if I should book the ski hire packages with Thomas Cook or wait until we get to resort. No one appears to have commented on ski hire and lift pass prices so far.
book with thomas cook it will be cheaper, we are advanced now but still need equipment and lift pass, its cheaper to book the beginner package and just not turn up for the lessons...
Is it a big difference in prices? We were intending to book private lessons when we get there.
We can buy passes and hire without lessons with Thomas Cook would you say that would still be cheaper? If it was just the two of us I would not be so worried but it makes quite a difference when there is 6.
Cat get your pass from and gear from Thomas Cook I can confirm as Gill say's it is cheaper to book the learn to ski package and just not turn up! But you do this at your own risk I have done it 5 times in Pamps no problem.
For private instruction check out Interski under the Hotel Markony which is near the main 3 man lift.
if buying passes and hiring is cheaper than the beginner ski pack then do that, depends how much thomas cook charge? never been with them but assume it will be cheaper to pay before you go than get the lift pass and hire the stuff once you get there.
Interski will also provide you with gear that is of a far better quality than that of the main ski depot, will be properly fitted and there is no scrum on the first day.
They will not, however, be able to get your lift pass you must do that through your tour operator.
This is what we do (are doing) this Feb half term.
