Heading to Borovets in feb 06, was there in march and pre-booked the ski pack, didn't think much of the boots/ski we got, the instructor was below par as well, can anyone suggest how to get good equipment/lessons at a resonable price, or is it best just to book through the holiday company??
Bobby, If you are a real dedicated skier, (and it sounds like you are) and you intend to go year after year, I would strongly recommend you get your own gear. Best thing we ever did. You then have skis you know you can trust, and boots that will fit like a slipper. Always comfortable, and therefore your holiday will not be ruined by bad equiptment.
You should be able to get boots, skis, poles bindings and carry bags all for about 200 quid in Bulgaria.

However it could be that you ended up getting your kit from the depot near the gondola?? if so you were unlucky because they really do have c**p stuff. Try to book throught eh tour company, and try to get one that uses the Samakov ski school the kit there is good, as long as ...

It is well worth getting your own boots though, and get them properley fitted !
would consider buying but prob not this year as will only be my second year ski-ing. Does any one know if you can book through places like rila/sam hotel if your not staying there?
