Ski Lessons - pre-book or wait ?!

Advice required please !!
Went to Borovets late January with the family for my first skiing holiday. Had a great time and got on well in the lessons pre-booked as part of the holiday package (managed to tackle blue runs by the end of the week).
I'm going back late Feb with my mates, but haven't booked any lessons as yet (not a package holiday). Question is, should I pre-book (intermediate ??) lessons before I go (if so, how ?) or should I leave this until I get out there (again, how ?!?!) ...

re: Ski Lessons - pre-book or wait ?!

Think it will be much cheaper to book before you go. Email this site. They can book full ski package and any airport transfers etc. (see contact us section left and above for e-mails).

You might be able to help with a query I have.
Following a post I put on this site earlier this evening, I wondered if you could tell me whether you skied from the top gondola down to the middle gondola. I have no idea whether we made good progress of not in our week. It would be interesting to compare ...

re: Ski Lessons - pre-book or wait ?!

Thanks for the guidance.
No, I didn't try that particular run. The blue I tried was from the top of the chairlift in front of the Rila. I attempted half a red, but the ice patches around by the end of the week made it impossible for a novice like me to stay upright !!
I also skiid the short blue run connecting the two green runs at the top of the gondola.
Sounds like you were thrown in at the deep end - which has benefits and disadvantages I suppose !!

re: Ski Lessons - pre-book or wait ?!

hi stu
We went there a few weeks ago and had nothing pre-booked. Everyone said it would cost us more out there but there wasnt much difference. We did our lessons with the samakov ski school and rented our skis there toolessons and ski hire cost 100euros and lift pass another130the week. so 230 for the lot which I thought was good, only cost about 10Euro more than if we had pre-booked. hope this helps

re: Ski Lessons - pre-book or wait ?!

This site will only let you pre book if book accommodation etc through them as well.

There is plenty of scope if you don't pre book but you do run the risk of paying more mailnly for the ski pass. Most of the UK holiday companies use Borosport whose office is located in the Rila Hotel. There is also the Samokov Ski School in the Samokov Hotel and the Albena Ski School which is in the high street next to the medical centre as well as lots of private instructors.

The choice is yours ...

The choice is yours but my advice would be to pre book through your travel agent before travelling.

Hope this helps
