Ski Schools!

Hi guys,

Heading out to Borvets for the first time in February with some friends but some of us have booked with First Choice and others with Balkan, and I was just wondering what the chances were of being allocated to the same ski school?!

I see that each tour operator sells 'packs' that include lessons, but none of them say which school the lessons will be at. Any help with how they allocate would be great!

Cheers!

re: Ski Schools!

very similar request for information about this posted recently, look back on the posts- may depend upon which hotel you are staying in- could allways ring or e mail tour oporator and ask?

Some in Hotel Lion (First Choice), some in Festa Winter Palace (Balkan)....both skiing packs were the same price exactly!

Hi Both,

Balkan and First Choice use samokov ski school and borosport, so you could be with either ski school. Sorry if that's not much help but if you book through a hotel direct you tend to know which ski school they are using and sometimes it is one of the smaller ones. With the above 2 operators, it's a mixture.

If you wanted to be together, you could always put in a request with the relevant operator, but no idea if they would do this as never booked through one.

Tom - most of the instructors are good at Borosport, the only negative is that as they are the biggest and have most of the tour operator deals etc, they tend to have pretty big groups - eg: 15. The smaller schools such as Hunters, Albena, Chamkoria etc are closer to 8 people in a group. Also, the ski equipment tends to be quite old, but they will replace it if you get really poor gear. BUT I try and steer clear of giving opinions / advice on this one as my other half works for a ski school and as a moderator of the forum it's better to sit on the fence!!!

It would be worth asking some of the regular forum guys who have had lessons in the resort as they may be able to give more opinions on this.

Kas

re: Ski Schools!

Thanks Kas, equipment not such an issue as I have my own, My daughter has booked Hunters for themselves and granchildren, one of six who is doing the school and one of just four who they are taking one to one for fun sking for an hour a day. Begining to wish that I had not gone with the opperator but booked seperatly, but as first time I think this will be a learning curve
