I was checking out having a few "warm up" days on some slopes before Borovets in Feb and thought about Scotland. Has any one been and would they recomend it?
Hi bob scotland is agood place to ski aviemore,or the lecht, glenshee, nevis range they usally dont get a great deal of snow until feb sometimes before have ski december time, it dosent compete with europe but is very challenging in its own right.
if you dont fancy scotland bob you could try the snowdome or edinburgh dry ski slope which is the biggest in europe.
cheers Garry. It was just a thought and we'd look at it once we know what the conditions are like up there. Just keeping some pennies to one side incase there is enough snow and to go up for a weekend. I just don't fancy the idea of a dry slope, to me it's like eating Ice cream then just having the diet stuff
we live about an hour and a half away from the nevis range and two hours from glenshee. this was our first yearand we managed about six saturdays when it snowed. it didnt really kick in until mid feb through march. had a great time and the skiing was challenging - very windy at times and icy when not a great deal of snow cover - probably developed more skil than when on hol for a week in borovets. for ski conditions look at ski scotland website its very up to date - you can check it on fri ...

if you type in ski scotland into google there is a site where you can order a brochur that gives you all the prices and slope info also some accomodation in the area. last years prices were about £25 per day but depends on where you go. hope this helps
