Ski Season Length

Obviously, at the moment there is a lot of discussion re snow (or the lack of).

Many people have said on here that in Bulgaria the most reliable snow is now from late Feb to early April.

We are going out to Pamporovo on 12th March (1st timers) and it seems that we should be OK (please clarify if I'm wrong).

My point is that this is the last week that our travel company (Inghams) are going to BG this year. Do they need to rethink their dates?

re: Ski Season Length

Hi Jay,we went around that time 4 years ago, we had loads of snow, and had a great time. Mornings are better because, the afternoon gets quite warm and the snow becomes slushy but still okay. Skiing for the 1st time is just so much fun, you will love it.

I have been to Pamporovo 3 times around your dates 98,99,2000.Twice I had fantatsic snow i.e so much it buried cars in the hotel car park. Last time in 2000 it was very poor only the top of the mountain was open and that was melting rapidly.

Last year Pamps had great late snow again so you really do take you chances. I have been going to Bulgaria for over 10 years now and to be honset with you I would now not book in advance if I wanted to go to Pamps at that time but would wait and see ...

I would however book Bansko in advance wich I have been doing for 4 years now higher resort and in my opinion better all round. Not to say Pamps is not good it is a great resort to learn in. You pays your money you takes your chance. Very Happy

re: Ski Season Length

Hey Jason,

Length of ski lessons per day is usually four hours. But of course it depends on you, if you are going to become a funny team the lessons might be longer. So have fun and enjoy your trip.
Some words in Bulgarian will help you to open hearts.
