Hi people,
Just switched over from beachbulgaria to see what all the fuss is with this skiing lark!
Not personally a big fan of the white stuff but am keen to build info on developments that you guys may know are near to both the slopes and any golf courses????
. . .possible investment and all help appreciated.
For a bit of background on me, I have been snowboarding a few times before as I live in Scotland . . . although I have never mentally recovered enough from fracturing my wrist in three places at the Bearsden dry ski slope in 1st year of high school to get back on skis!
Picture the scene. . . cocky 13 year old lad being taught on the gentle rope slopes by our PE teacher how to point the toes in and slow down etc., Fast forward 40 minutes when the teacher allows leaves us alone so he can go for a shot on the adjacent slope. I decide to inch my way up to the top of the slope and assume the eddie the eagle position while aiming for the crash mats at the bottom (not knowing how to turn). In short it felt like I was doing 200mph before clattering into and over another skiier who was minding their own business. Landed on ma wrist . .. three fractures and some mental scarring.
Hello Wullie,
My advise...........get back on the slopes with a good instructor and build up your conferdence !!!.
But this time on the real stuff, its much nicer, and the fall doesn't hurt so much
