Anyone got advice on the best place to buy boots?

Hi don't know where you are ,but my wife and I have both bought boots in our local Tiso and found them very helpful.I have recently been in twice to have my 4yr old boots altered because of my foot spreading and they couldn't be more helpful,spent alot of time with me remoulding the inner and stretching the outer boot at NO cost.

if you are anywhere near the Midlands Lockwoods of Leamington Spa have a very good reputation for boot fitting with excellent after sales service as well

Very expensive, at least 20% dearer than anywhere else I've found

Snow and rock told me i needed a different size boot for each foot, despite only being about 3mm difference!

we would have to agree with going to snow and rock, yes they maybe expensive but you pay for what you get and they price match too! especially if you haggle for it....if you pretend you are in the forces you get extra discount!!
