Ski boots on plane

For all those wondering about whether they can take their boots on the plane as hand luggage, below is a response to that very question from Crystal Ski. I fly out tomorrow, Thompson flight from Stansted:

"Thank you for your email.
Your boots count as part of your check-in luggage and have to be checked in. For more information please contact the airline directly and they will help you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further queries.

Kind Regards

re: Ski boots on plane

I went to Borovets last week with Crystal. On a thompson flight both ways. I took my boots as hand luggage. I asked at check in they said it was fine. The bag and boots went through security also with no problem. It was fine coming back as well. They did however confiscate a pair of plyers that were at the bottom of my husbands bag. This was most embarrassing. He had used the bag on a fishing trip recently and didn't realise they were still in there. Surprised
