First time to Bansko, my daughter has difficulty to get ski boots that do not inflame her shins, she usally wears Rossingsol soft fit boots. Could anybody tell me what the equipment is like and what standard
I was in Bansko last week. Went with Crystall. The Crystall kit was very good. All new or newish. I was told this was better than the kit from the general hire place.
I don't know about the special boots your daughter needs, but my kids weren't offered anything out of the ordinary. The things they got were good, but standard.
If your daughter needs something out of the ordinary, you might consider buying it in Bansko on the first day. There are some good equipment shops, and the prices are significantly lower than here.
The first morning is spent getting kitted out mostly, and the lessons are delayed, so you likely wouldn't miss anything, just spend less time queuing.
try her with a pair of techical socks-i swear by them as i have the same problem with my shins too.
these are thinner sock with support where needed but they are padded down the shins and over the toes.
you buy these to fit your size so don't be tempted to buy her a larger size for growing into.
they can be bought from any good ski shop=i think blacks sell them but millets don't.they are £10-13 each but well worth it.
happy skiing
The guys in the ski depot for Balkan are very helpful, just be patient and smile and they will change and change and change your equipment until your happy. They dont seem to want to show the fact that they can provide good service, but they do, most of the boots I saw last season were Salomon and Atomic and a few others. hope this helps
