Ski hire and lessons, in borovets.

Evening all we are off to boro on the 19th Feb staying the Rila on a package deal. Our friends will be joining us on the 20th staying in the iceberg. They have asked me to find some info out for them:

1. How far is the iceberg from the Rila
2. Where is the best place to hire ski gear from for the week (and can we organise this in advance)
3. Where is the best place to book a couple of half day ski lessons as a refresher, either private or part of a group.
4. Where can they get ...

4. Where can they get there ski passes from, is it best too pre book them or get them when they get there?
5. They would like to arrange transfers from Sofia to iceberg in borovets on the 20th and then return a week later. Any ideas

Thanks in advance all

1. I think the Iceberg is in "Old Borovets". They could be looking at a 15min walk up hill to the Rila, depending on conditions and type of footwear...

Hi Bud just got back from boro on sat 29th. Iceberg is less than 100m from rila just in front of 4 man lift so is literally next door. Sometimes its better to book your skipacks through one of the tour operators i.e. inghams, neilson or crystal before you go. We payed £180 for 6 days lift pass equipment and tuition for 4 hours day. And i believe crystal is even cheaper than this. think you can only book with the tour operator you're travelling with though. Hope this helps. PS try Katy's bar ...

Will they let us in there with a baby in a push chair?

Its the Iceangels that is near the 4 man lift. The Iceberg is on the way out of Borovets down past the Happy Duck and the chinese restaurant about 15 mins walk from the Rila through the centre of Boro

Bud. The only places that probably won't let you in with a pushchair are those that you wouldn't want to take your child or your wife into anyway. In addition there may be some other places that you won't want to take your child into but nobody will refuse you entry just becuase you have a child in tow. For a start you are going half term week so the place will be full of kids. It won't mean much to you but I walked into the Buzz bar some seasons ago at about 10.30pm one evening and there ...

It won't mean much to you but I walked into the Buzz bar some seasons ago at about 10.30pm one evening and there were still some parents with their pushchairs in there. If the no smoking laws are indeed practised and this is the first year then most places will have a more child friendly environment. Your problem may be should it snow, just pushing the chair around in the first place.
