re: Ski or snowboard??

Hello

Went to boro last year

What we noticed was there was alot of snow boarders that was not to experienced

That said the run into the resort is pretty steep and nearly all of the boarders were side slipping down that really buggered the slopes.

Up the top would be better

I have tried both and for me it's ski's every time, may be a day of the hol have a board but that's it

Enjoy and hope the snow falls!

Cheers

re: Ski or snowboard??

I think the beginner area at bansko is good, there are two good blues to play on, the ski road back to town can be enjoyable and is easy, if a little flat in places. However I am biased, I learned to fall over in Bansko, (on skis), the next year I learned to ski (well a little). Going back next weekend, love the place. Hoping to fall over on the tomba this time.!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Don,

Thanks for taking time to reply, do you know if bansko's good for boarding though.

Is it true that you have really big queues to get up the mountain?

8 days and counting I see!

re: Ski or snowboard??

Amy,
The mountain is very poular with boarders as there are only a few draglifts, the big queues you may have heard of are not usual, there can be delays at the gondola in the morning peak but not normally too bad. However, recently due to the closure of other resorts bansko has been very busy, added to that it was christmas, and its now Greek orthodox holidays, so extra busy. I have been going since 2005/2006 and have only once had long queues, this due to the gondola breaking down. Hope ...

re: Ski or snowboard??

Stacey,
Sorry I missed your point as the thread seemed to change somewhat away from your original post. In answer to your question, in Bansko in the past the main ski rental have allowed one change of kit from ski to board or board to ski, I would imagine the same probably applies in borovets, if you know where you will be staying/hiring from maybee one of the site regulars in borovets can advise you. Hope this helps a bit.
