Ski orthotic insoles - any good?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any dealing of asking with orthotic insoles?

I suffer from flat feet which can make skiing agonising! does anyone suffer from flat feet whilst skiing and more important does anyone have a solution?

Any help appreciated!

Hi Steph,
I have suffered with sore feet in ski boots for many years. 18 months ago I went to a shop in London to have a fitting done and buy some boots. It cost a bit for the fitting but the problems were eased by 75%. I was still getting some soreness and my local ski shop took a look at my stance and told me i needed to stretch my calf muscles and hamstrings but for a temporary fix to raise the heal of the insole a bit. Did this and now no pain.

Thanks steve! I bet 10 minutes of yoga in the morning before skiing may help then. Ill definitely give that a try! I think I'll try insoles too, I've been browsing forums and people seem to say they help.

Steph, I bought some ski boots yesterday and was about to pay £60 for a fitting when I pulled out my normal orthitic insoles from my shoes and the shop lady said these were perfect.

Job done, money saved and pain saved. Yes, I'd advise insoles if any sort of foot trouble!
