why is it when skiers walk they have to swing the ski poles around and seem hell bent on taking someones eyes out? Ok as an ex skier but now a boarder i understand its difficult to walk in ski boots but is there really a need to swing your poles as you do?
I think that is a very broad statement, as not all skiers swing their poles around, bit like saying that all boarders don't look behind themselves when effecting a blindside turn across the piste (even though you do )
Personally i use my poles for walking, just like a walking stick... and for stabbing moaning boarders hehehehe
ok so its not aimed at all but it is an issue which i thought was worth raising because it does happen quite a lot and when i was a skier i used my poles like you said you use yours...............
and of course i always check my surroundings.....:-)
It is mate, i was only joshing... have followed many a young lady and nearly lost an eye (or was that for another reason ???) no,it was her waving pole, especially on the stairs at the gondola....
And i know, you always !!! check your surroundings
I have me a reinforced goggles set but I have taken a few poles on a ride on my board!!!!
Bent a few also and when I skied some 7 years ago I believe it took out a few ribs also!!!
If they took ski poles of ladies it would be boring they would have nothing to hit me with!!!!!!
