Could someone clear up for me what the ski road is as i have never been to Bansko and going in 2 weeks! Can you ski right back to the main town bit where all the hotels are? How difficult is the run?
The ski road is few miles long and will take you from the top of the gondola all the way back to the gondola station at the bottom, its a nice run although it was a little icy in places when i was there last week. There wasnt any snow in the town of bansko at all so we had to take a short walk back to the hotel (Mura), alternativly most of the hotels run a free transfer bus back and forward. Or jump in a taxi, just remember to agree on a price before getting in. But i recommed the ski road, ...

Was just going to ask how doable it is on a board - I've heard it's pretty flat in places. I guess I'm going to give it a go at somepoint just a question of how much you need to flat line it!
Im a snowboarder, its true you have to keep your speed up, as alot of it is pretty flat especially at the bottom, you'll see alot of boarders walking the last part when your going up the gondola, i just tried to keep my back foot out of my binding and kinda shuffle along lol.
Someone killed themselves a year or two ago in Austria using a board as a sled, granted on a bit steeper slope I belive and some beers may have been involved. They picked up too much speed and got catapulted past the end of the piste into a road (I think it was).
Also need to be careful that you don't lose hold of the board, I've seen a loose board miss a kids head by a only few metres while it was going at a fair rate.
