Morning all,
A couple of weeks ago, I made a post asking if snowboard and ski bags are weighed at the airport prior to being put down the oversize conveyor. I was told that they were not.
Just to let you know that we flew with Thomas Cook from Birmingham and the bags were weighed. However, the allowance we were given for these bags was 10kg, all of our bags were over this and they did not seem to be too bothered.
I am not criticising the information I received, please do not ...
Morning all,
A couple of weeks ago, I made a post asking if snowboard and ski bags are weighed at the airport prior to being put down the oversize conveyor. I was told that they were not.

I am not criticising the information I received, please do not misunderstand me. I am only providing this information so that people are aware that we had our bags weighed.
Thanks Phil - must say we have been using board bags to transport our skis for several years now and never had a problem. However looking at some of these bags being checked in that are bursting at the seams with other ski gear I would think it's only a matter of time before they start to charge for overweight ski and board bags.
it still goes back to overall weight, my 5 yr old now pays adult fare, because he takes a seat up, fair enough, he weighs about 22kgs, and has an allowance of 20 kgs, so total of 42kgs, ............when was the last time you sat next to an adult who was 42kgs?????????????
i completely agree Fraser.
When we checked in there was a fella who only had his board bag and hand baggage, no suitcase at all. His boardbag was like a coffin.
