Skibike

Hi guys !

Just a question to Kas. Maybe Booby will be able to answer my question.
Are skibikes allowed on pistes in Boro ?
I have a knee problem and I can't ski anymore so it's my last option to ride Sad

re: Skibike

I have on film at least different bikes being used at Boro over more than two seasons. One was a purpose built ski bike, the other was a mountain bike (with pedals) but the wheels had been replaced by skiis, he was flying. So I would guess that you can but am not in a position to say if they were allowed or not only that i've seen them

re: Skibike

Like EMJAY i have seen them over the last couple seasons, maybe worth you emailing borosport direct and asking them at least then if they say yes via email you can print it out and take it with you as proof in case anyone does say anything? Goodluck

re: Skibike

Good call Francis - we did see a guy using a ski bike at Christmas but that doesn't mean to say it is a permitted activity although i can't see what harm they can do!

re: Skibike

These videos make me think that it should be allowed...

Anyway, I'll be there with the bike next week end. I'll let you know what they've told me.

re: Skibike

Sorry my friend but I beg to differ. They re not difficult to control. I rented one last year in France as I also had knee problems. Couple of hours with a guide soon sorted out any technical difficulties. Two small blades on feet and ride the bike like a speedway motorcycle. Unlike skis weight on the uphill edge and lean INTO the turn. Front blade turning into the turn and round you go.
