I need advice. Its my first time skiing in Feb going to Pamp. I am quite a big person and I don't mean tall. I need to know do you need to buy skiing pants slightly bigger than your normal trouser size. Also what are the best exercises to do to get my legs slightly ready for the tiring experience?
Cheers
Ski pants just need to be comfy John. You'll need to try them on with your base layer bottoms underneath and make sure you can bend and sit comfortably in them. You don't want them too big though as they'll just feel bulky and awkward. We were 'older' first-timers last year and found that, so long as you're reasonably fit, you don't have a problem lasting the course. I do a basic fitness programme at my gym, but my hubby just goes walking two or three times a week and we were fine.
as for exercises the easiest is walk up and down your stairs 10 times (in one shot) twice-three times a day, after a day on the slopes ploughing like your life depends on it the only problem you'll have after is getting up the stairs! believe me, my stair capet is wearing thin already and I have 3 weeks to go.
