Skiing Lessons

Hi,

We're off to Borovets on 7th Jan and it's the first sliing holiday for my wife and 2 kids (7 & 9). They are all booked into beginners ski school but we're not sure if the kids will be in the same group as their mum. Does anyone know if the kids are taught seperately ?

And what time do the classes run from?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Stewart, welcome to the site.

I hope you find it full of information and fun.

The Bulgarians realise that this is your holiday, and will not split up your family if you want to stay together.

However, you may find the kids want to be with other kids and they can join a group that will be only kids of their own age group.

Instruction normally runs from 10am till 12. Then From 1.30 till 3.30. These are only approximate as the instructors usually allow the group to decide on lunch break times.

After lessons you will be reunited with the kids allowing you free time to ski as a family if you so wish.

My family and i have stayed at the rila 2 years running at christmas. the hotel is in the best location for the nursery slopes and the ski school meeting point. We found that our kids (11&10) went in a group of other children and had a fantastic time. They go off for the whole day as they go to lunch with the instructor but you have to give them the money in the morning, this is not compulsory but it can be difficult to locate children at lunch time. We generally met up with the kids in the afternoon in the lounge area of the rila as the instructors normally drop of the group there. We found the resort very safe and as it isnt to big easy o find your way around. The rila is good hotel and the rooms are basic but very warm and welcoming after a hard days skiing, although it can be a little noisy at night with late night revellers returning to the rooms.
All in all we have had 2 great holidays and are going again on the 24/12/05.

regards peter

re: Skiing Lessons

Our kids have skied with us for the past two years, they are now 12 and 14 and ski better than us. They felt that were too old for kids ski. We have stayed at the Rila for the past two years and we are staying there again on the 7th. Cant wait Very Happy
