Skiing late in season

Hi
Thinking about Pamporovo for a family skiing holiday but only date I can make is 31/3/07. Can anyone tell me if there is lightly to be any snow to ski on!! We are all beginners - some think they are better than that but they're not really.
Any help gratefully received.

re: Skiing late in season

Skiing that late in the season will always depend entirely on what the snowfall, temperatures and freeze-thaw conditions have prevailed throught that winter. It is always impossible to predict, especially for a ski resort that is as low as Pamporovo. Your best bet is to stick with a high altitude resort. Saying that, there have been some good conditions in previous years.

All the tour ops stop going before this date for good reason... lack of snow! Unless you can go earlier I would look at Bansko

Nobady can ever say yes or no to your question as the weather is too unpredicable - but you would be taking a big gamble going that late.

re: Skiing late in season

Went to Bansko two years ago on 19/3. There was still plenty of snow and a good metre depth at the top. The trouble was in the afternoon the top layer warmed up and became quite sticky. That made skiing more difficult and tiring. On the plus side we came home with a great tan!
