Skis Waxed Bansko

Hello,
New to the forum but coming out to Bansko on 26th Feb with 3 mates, staying at the Strazhite hotel. Anyone stayed here? is it any good??
Anyway I have just bought my first pair of skis and was wondering if I would need to get them waxed while on holiday and if so where!

Thanks

re: Skis Waxed Bansko

give them a go first day and if they need waxing they offer a very good,quick and cheap service in the gondola station.
Enjoy

Stayed there before, lovely place, free wi-fi in the lobby, great ski storage area, very central, can't fault it really.

Oh, except the bedrooms with adjoining doors ... it can get noisy so try and avoid them.

As Steve said, good ski service area in the gondola station.

re: Skis Waxed Bansko

Hi, I service skis and snowboards professionally and would advise you that the new skis which are factory waxed will behave well for the first day and then start slowing down. I recommend having them waxed thereafter every couple of days or go to your local ski shop and buy a puck shaped container of a product called "Zardoz". It is a silicon based compound and there are about 15 treatments per container. It costs in the region of a tenner. If you have trouble tracking it, try ;
