Sledges?

Hi I am going to Borovets next year and wondered if you can buy kids sledges there???
Plus, whats the place like? I'm staying in yagoda chalets. Are they nice and clean. Anything I should be aware of? never been ski-ing before. What footwear is best for just walking around in the snow when we are not ski-ing? Thanks for that Very Happy

re: Sledges?

You can buy the kids plastic bum-boards at all Bulgarian resorts. Great fun for the kids and they cost very little.

Best footwear for outside walking are good pair of trainers with a deep tread.

First timer eh............. you will love it Razz

re: Sledges?

If the snow is deep, footwear that covers your ankle will give you a little more protection from the snow getting into your shoes. A good sole tred is essential as it can be slippy in some places.
Totally recommend bum boarding, really good fun.........
Have a good holiday Very Happy

re: Sledges?

Thank you so much for your help. If I get good pairs of thick wellies with a sort of fleece lining would they be adequate? Just dont want to spend too much, esp on the kids, as they'll only wear them for a week, and if we go next year they'll have grown out of them.
Brill about the sledges.
We actually went to Lapland for 4 days last Christmas and the kids just loved the snow so much we had to go somewhere snowy. Very Happy They had sledges then, and we wanted to get some for in the evenings. Want ...

re: Sledges?

If you've got a branch of Sports Soccer near to you, have a look to see if they have any walking boots which are goretex - I got mine in Sports Soccer for £20 in the Xmas sale last year and I went walking in very deep snow (up to my knees) feet stayed perfectly dry.
