Sledging on the slopes

Hi all,2 years ago i bought a inflatable sledge ,shaped like a boogie surf board about 12" thick for £80.It has hard plastic runners on the bottom ,some at the side of the bottom at a 45 degree angle to give you steerage .It also has 4 handle grips ontop for maximum control.
I took it down the slopes at Pamps and was able to go as fast as many skiers and also weave in and out of any obstuctions due to the runners underneath giving me "ski like control".It was really enjoyable and far more ...

My question is what are your professional skiers opinion on this ? I know to have a lot of sledges on the slopes would be utter chaos but controlable ones like mine ?

re: Sledging on the slopes

From past experience only and I'm not a professional - anyone on a sledge has been asked to vacate the slope - controlled or otherwise. I think novice skiers have enough trouble looking out for other skiers and snowboarders let alone sleds! That said it sounds like great fun - we used to go sledding around 5ish when the slopes were quieter. Enjoy

re: Sledging on the slopes

we took a sledge down the green run at pamps a couple of times last week, was more fun and safer than the dodgy skiing on ice. I can see why people would be annoyed but quite a lot of people were doing it cus the skiing was so rubbish! great fun
