Slovenia

Have had some good skiing in BG for the past couple of years but am thinking of going to to one of the other Balkan countries next year for a change, maybe Slovenia, has anyone been who can shed some light on the skiing / prices etc
thanks.

Went to Kranjska Gora 3 years ago with Crystal holidays - lovely resort, friendly people, overall Slovenia is a welcoming, interesting country. However, we went at Feb half term and the weather & snow conditions were poor. Possibly because it's a very low resort - only around 900m compared to Borovets (where we've just been), so the snow was quite slushy & low cloud. So whilst we loved the place, we wouldn't go back due to the risk of this. Another Balkan country which I can recommend is ...

Another Balkan country which I can recommend is Serbia, we went in 2007 and 2008, and were booked to go again in 2009 but Thomson/Crystal pulled it from the brochures due to 'economic reasons'. Balkan Holidays also have the resort (Kopaonik) under review for 2009/10, it isn't in their current preview brochure. It's a real shame as it is a lovely place - they have invested a lot over the past few years - quite a few new four man chair lifts. The standard of ski boots/equipment was much better than our recent experience in Borovets too.
