we returned from there 30th dec and although the building work didnt effect us the state of the road did. It was like walking through the building site itself. there were no pathways but then again if there is plently of snow covering on the floor then you wont notice this so much.
the snejanka itself is still friendly/warm/clean so no problems there. in fact we think the food there has improved from 2002 when we were there before.
Something to think about, I know Fleeety family said the road was bad, but the building work will only happen in daylight, it gets dark atound 5, so you may just get about an hour of noise depending on what time you leave Markony's
You must be joking Ally I walked past there at 11 pm on Xmas eve and they were still working. It is a safe distance from the Snejanka though I don't think the noise would disturb them.
I did notice that most of the building materials were imported from Germany and that there seemed to be 4 watching one man work. What did the rest of you do on Xmas eve ?
I would agree with the Fleets as we were there at the same time, Snezhanka is great, warm, friendly, food ok plenty of it. But the building site outside spoils it a bit, no paths to speak of and when it snows you cant see the safe places to walk. Our tour operator didnt tell us about the building work until the day before we flew, they said it was finished and the rep said it is expected finished by mid Jan I will be very surprised. But you should hopefully spend all your time up ...
Hi
I would agree with the Fleets as we were there at the same time, Snezhanka is great, warm, friendly, food ok plenty of it. But the building site outside spoils it a bit, no paths to speak of and when it snows you cant see the safe places to walk. Our tour operator didnt tell us about the building work until the day before we flew, they said it was finished and the rep said it is expected finished by mid Jan I will be very surprised. But you should hopefully spend all your time up on the slopes and not see much of it anyway, Have a great time.
