Hi Everyone,I see that the temps are warming a little and was wondering about the snow cannons. Do these get put to work at night when the temp dips below 0?

Yes Greg, Most resorts will have there snow cannons running as necessary over night, they can work as long as its colder than -2 ish depending on humidity levels, And are most effective from about -8. Although Resorts will have other factors that could ration there use, generally they will keep the main slopes in good condition. But as Forecasts currently stand we are looking at a big dumping of snow next week. So no need to worry about dependency on snow cannons

Well, Crystal have tweeted from Pamporovo, suggesting the next significant snowfall is expected from next monday, Accuweather, snow-forecast and others all show some precipitation throughout next week, currently changing in quantities as i dont think any of them can predict that far ahead, but I certainly believe that significant snow fall is due next week looking at weather maps. Met check are currently not forecasting any significant precipitation but are acknowledging the weather front ...

Currently in Pamps, and it's very cold during the day to hold the snow.They have, and any available chance there is, the machines are making snow.
The resort has amassed an abundance of water reserves from the wet summer to feed the machines , so when the natural stuff eventually falls it will be even better than it is now!…
