Snow boots?

We're off to Boro next week for the first time, can't wait! Do we need snow boots or will walking boots do? And whats the dress code in the evening, is it casual or do people dress up to go out? We're taking teenagers who will go "ape" if they feel they're not dressed to impress!!

walking boots will be fine I take timberlands and have no problems, night time is casual quiet low key dress jeans, tshirt and jumper or fleece, bars can get quiet warm so wear layers.
