Snow cannons

Hi all , Booked for pamps in on feb 9th ,the brocure says there are no snow cannons in the resort. Can anyone shed any light on the info ,is it true or are there some.

Pamps had a limited number of cannons last year. There were positioned on the top section of the green run and the blue opposite Brothers.

Reports are that they will be more for this coming season!

There was only 5 last season and there should be 11 more this year

Cannons can only be of mimimum assistance when they are limited to so few, and they will only function when temps are between -3 and -10.

Any warmer and the droplets will not turn to snow and any colder they will just form ice.

Do not expect them to make any signifcant changes to the conditions in Pamporovo.

There simply are not enough of them by a long way.

Pamporovo is too low (warm) resort for the effect of snow cannons to be reliable.For better chances -- pray for snow and do it intensely just few days before your travel.

Having skied Pamporovo in temps of -20 the resort is NOT too warm for the use of cannons. As they are mostly operated in any resort during the night, cannon would be effective in Pamporovo if there were sufficent of them.

Unfortunately there are not.

Hi Chris - we're in Pamps too wk beg 9th. This'll be our 3rd year half term week. 2006 was brill - minus 26 and LOADS of snow. 2007 not so good, but we still managed to ski upper slopes. Lookin forward to 2008!!!
