Snow cannons

Looks like the temp is cooling down now in borovets is it time they started to prepare the slopes, with snow cannons for xmas or are they trying to save money?.
Come on boro make a start.

They can't untill it drops below 0,or it'll just come out as water..

Borosports and preparing the slopes are not words/phrases you usually see in the same sentence.

Get down on your knees and pray for snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Showing almost constant rain in Plovdiv from 11th to 14th of December on this site, move that a couple of thousand feet up and it should be a good covering in Pamps for Xmas skiers

The weather is still too warm for snow cannons, besides there is no snow on the slopees and it's hard to count on the cannons only. The day temperatures are above 10 degrees centigrade, even if you put some snow in the night nothing is to be left in the day
January will be the time for the cannons.

Snow cannons can only operate in temperatures between -3º to -10º. Any warmer and the water droplets would not form crystals, any colder and they would simply produce ice. The volume of cannons at all the Bulgarian resorts are minimal and are only located in the more vunerable places where the snow thins most often. They are there only to support the existing snow, not to create skiing conditions.
