Snow in Borovets

Hi Guys,

I know it doesn't mean it will last and offers no real insight into the season....but, Bobby & I were up at the top of the gondola all day today. We went up with the lift staff at 8am and got back down at 4. It was ****** freezing!! Hi Guys,

I know it doesn't mean it will last and offers no real insight into the season....but, Bobby & I were up at the top of the gondola all day today. We went up with the lift staff at 8am and got back down at 4. It was ****** freezing!! There was no snow at all on the top when we got there and everything looked rocky / muddy but it started snowing practically as soon as we got to the top station and was still snowing when we left - after a whole day, everything looked white, even though it was only about 1cm coverage after all the wind!! We walked down towards the markudjik slopes from the gondola and took the right-hand branch - they have now split it properly so that all the beginners don't have to go down the steep, narrow path either carrying their skis and/ or on their backs!! If they take the right-hand, the gradient is much more gradual and it is also wider for them.

The staff have also put in a fence to hold the snow at the top of Markudjik 1 down to the nursery slope - if you remember last year it kept blowing across the slope into the bushes!! There were also a couple of diggers flattening and widening the path that connects the bottom of Yastrebets 1 / Rila runs.

We will be back up there tomorrow and will let you know of any other news! Will also keep you upto date with realtime conditions as the season starts, but for forcecasts / predictions, see Mark I.O.W posts when he starts doing them!

Kas
