Pete, we hope that snow coverage will be enougth by end of December (although this year is much warmer than previous one - in Moscow there is no snow as well). See you in Pamps
On the very few occasions that I have known snow cover to be poor, skiers from Borovets have been bussed to Pamporovo to ski. I have never ever known this to be the other way around, and this has happened on only a very few occasions in the 13 years I have been going there. Pamporovo does have a slighly better snow record, but saying that Borovets can boast some fantastic ski runs that are 99% always open by Xmas or just after.

It is traditional at this time of year that we all go nuts because no snow is falling yet. It is the same every year and we all get paranoid that we will be rock climbing when we get there.
Last year for example, when we left the UK on Jan 25th the snow reports were not good, and we were all expecting poor skiing conditions. When we got there the trees were bending double with the weight of snow and we had some unbelievably fantastic skiing for the 2 weeks we were there.
When the first big fall arrives, the snow bashers are out and a firm base is laid. Fresh snow falls which protects the base and keeps it frozen allowing for softer snow to be groomed for skiing. Once this is done it can last the whole season provided the temps don't go crazy. The resorts are generally warm by day and cold by night which is nothing short of perfect for a great skiing holiday.
Have no fear guys, it has never let me down yet, which is why I go back year in, year out!!!!!!!!
