Buy in uk , wider choice and if you develop a fault etc alot easier to sort when back home

re: Snowboard Boots

Hi uwss2012

I bought 2nd hand ski boots off ebay, used twice and in mint condition for less than half retail price. Also had the benefit of trying the exact size / model in a local shop, so could be sure of fit and suitability / stiffness etc.

Felt pretty comfortable knowing I was getting an absolute bargain at the same time - perhaps an option here??

re:Snowboard Boots

Your boots are going to be pretty much the most important part of your kit, you will have them on your feet all day and any problems will ruin your trip. I don't mean to do any of the local retailers a dis-service but you have a much better chance of getting the right pair in good UK retailer with plenty of choice and expertise. A good shop will discuss your level, explain the fit and advise you. My local shop will sell you the boots and tell you to take them home and wear them in the house ...

On a seperate note I wouldnt have your heart set on a particular pair up front or a system. I buy the boots that fit me best and suit my riding style.I dont think I know anyone who uses the boa system, plus any breakages will leave you stuck on the hill with a loose boot - you can tie laces back together as a bodge and even better if you have a dual zone lacing system.

Lastly, if you join SCUK for £15 you will get 5/10/15% off loads of retailers and 20% off the snow domes, should offset your next boot purchase! Good luck!
