I have taken the 'learn to ski' pack in Borovets before which included 24 hours of lessons, 4 hours per day. 6 of us will be taking the 'learn to board' pack this time which is only 6 hours of lessons, 2 hours for 3 days!! Can somebody who has done this explain why there is so little tuition and what is the typical structure of the week and improvement progress. Will we be pleased to practice alone or will we need to book further private lessons. Thanks for any insight into this.
Just got back today from Borovets, my son had snowboard lessons they are 2 hours in the morning then you just practis in the afternoon on your own, you can book another 3 days lessons, beginners or itermediates which was 37 levs a day or 90 levs for 3 days, my son just followed us the skiers sometimes or just stayed in the middle.
All I can say is slowly spent more time on his bottom than on his feet, My daughter got a board for one day for a change and was nearly as good as my son lol
We had a two hour taster lesson in pamps two years ago and then went to canada the following year and swapped for the last 3 days to boards without lessons. We got on ok knowing the basic and had loadsa fun but would need more lessons to advance onto any better runs (saying that the green runs in Canada are like blue over there). Hope this helps.
If you want some private lessons go and see Rob (Mancunian) who is based in the ski/snowboard school under the flora. He's mad but a great fella and will have you boarding in no time. He also charges 30lv an hour!
