Snowboards

My daughter has asked me to find out which are the best snowboards and roughly how much they cost. Also, is it cheaper to buy in BG or in the UK.

Thanks in advance for your help

re: Snowboards

Try the Snowshack at Malina under the Markony hotel. They have a link on here and you could contact them that way. They sell Burton snowboards and gear, and give you advice on what you should look for.

re: Snowboards

Best? it's a bit subjective, perhaps going for the better known makes will make sense ie; Burton, Rome, Forum, K2, Ride, Salomon, Bataleon, Stepchild... the list goes on. Personally I ride Rome and Stepchild but found no bother in selling on Burton gear on ebay, they are all good quality well made boards, prices start a little over £200 and go up depending on the use, bindings also start at about £100. I found the prices to be better in UK than Bansko last year, plenty of deals around, ...

Cheers. Confused

re: Snowboards

Hi guys, shows you how ingorant I am about these things so just skyped my daughter. She lives in Calif and wants to get an all mountain snowboard (has heard the name Burton) and the person she is buying for as a lad of approx 6ft tall as skinny as a rake. Thinks he is about 150lbs and he will be snowboarding in Wyoming - just a bit further than BG I think Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

So, back to the original question - is it better to buy here in BG or back in the UK or possible the USA?

Thanks Arron, ...

re: Snowboards

Go For the USA you will save loads, just have a look on amazon.com when you find a board you like email the seller with height and weight and they will sort you out with the right board, i bought a Forum Destroyer for £120 retail in the UK for £300 - £400 but you will have to have an USA residents address with a Credit card that matches the address or know someone in the USAF.

Good luck James

Hi Andie

Take all of the comments above!!! But go for the buying a board in the USA!! I have a Burton T6 i bought in the US two years ago - with bindings and boots. Full kit here would have been just about £1000.00 but the full set in Stowe cost me £300.00. and that was before the exchange rate got to the levels we are at now!

They have a bigger range of styles and set ups over there too and you have no problem bringing the kit back either. I got the board bag thrown in for buying the ...
