Went for a ski lesson on Monday night - told them I could do linked snowplough turns but hadn't been skiing for a year now. They recommended I should have a lesson at level 2.
We started the lesson with show us how you snowplough, then open your snowplough to slow down then at the end of the lesson they started to teach us how to turn. Me thinks they advised me of the wrong level. Spoke to them today - they said I should have been top of level 3 or 4 when I told them what happened. ...

Rang up Hemel Hempsted dry slope - they said I should go straight to Level 4. Going for a 90 min lesson on Sunday morning - there are only 2 other people in the group. Whilst I'd normally say go for snow, just be very careful about what level they put you in and if it's right for you.

Lessons???????? nahhhh it's like riding a bike. You fall off, you get back on, and then head for The Wall in the afternoon.

I had lessons last year before I came to Pamps - didn't make much difference mind you...I remembered how to do a snowplough turn without any probs so was a bit frustrated when they tried to teach us from the beginning...
Unfortunatly for you, it's Borovets for me this year so no Wall.... maybe that 6km blue by mid-week instead.
Who's the equivalent of Boran in Borovets - any ideas???

I found the snowdome in Milton Keynes good, and in terms of being like skiing I found it halfway between the dry slope and the real thing.
One thing though in places the slopes were quite bare and just below the snow they have a concret base which is white in colour. I found it difficult to spot these patches and even more difficult to ski on !!!! Then again these patches had a feeling of skiing on ice so it was good practise for when you come across one those!!!
