Bansko in the sunshine at the moment, looking up at a mountain getting whiter by the day, Dec 1st is looking good for unofficial opening... and in the Spring/summer moving to our new house in a small village called Dolna Dragilishte about 15mins away...

speaking of avalanche systems...does Bansko operate "Recco" avalanche systems ?

`Recco' is a bit old hat now, generally they will use a GPS locator to identify your mobile phone signal if buried... but if its gone that far, generally its only to dig out your body... Speak to locals about conditions, and which areas are less risky, the gulleys to the right side of Todorka are notorious killers, the back and face of Todorka being a lot more stable, as are the tree runs and bowls.. The `champagne bowl' is classic when conditions are good, being accessed from under the ...
